Andrew Hewkin

Andrew Hewkin was born in the Midlands (UK) in 1949. He studied art at Stourbridge Art College, the West of England School of Art and obtained a 1st Class honours degree at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1973. He won the Burston Award for Painting in 1972 and the John Minton Travelling Scholarship in 1973. He was a regular contributor to the Royal Academy Summer exhibitions. His 1st one man show was in London, Mayfair, 1974 (the Trafford Gallery).
 
He lived in Mustique for 3 years to produce paintings commissioned by Lord Glenconner for an exhibition in New York in 1979. He has travelled the world for the past 30 years and had exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, South Africa, Barbados, Munich, Zagreb, Vienna (& London annually).
 
He is at present working on paintings of the Venice Carnival. He has been commissioned by Thomas Cook, British Airways, Playboy, The Embassy (London), Tiger Tops (Nepal), BBC World Service, Baring Securities, New Man (Paris), Royal Westmoreland (Barbados), Dunhill and Cartier. He also designed the logo for the Peace Harmony Concert in Tokyo to commemorate the end of the 1st Gulf war.
